Hey all!
Sorry I didn't update before now, have only been on the compy for a few minutes here and there. You can probably guess from my typing that I did indeed survive!
Had to wait nearly 4 hours for my op cos they were running behind schedule

but i suppose that's hospitals for you!
Kept being calm and scared and vice versa but when the nurse said 'I'm here to take you to surgery' I nearly freaked!!
Really spooked lying on the trolley getting brought to the anaesthetic room and lying there, the only thing that stopped me crying was a nice nurse making small talk with me. Thanks goodness for her!
Getting the bung in the back of my hand wasn't as sore as I though, a scratch really and a wierdo feeling of a needle inside you. Then into theatre....

(I was still thinking I could cancel the whole thing

)
I hopped up on the bed looking at all the giant lights and stuff and the nurses are all chat and laughter and I'm convinced I'm going to die and the anaethetist starts injecting and says "You're going to get a cold feeling in your arm and a funny metallic taste in your mouth".
Well I'm lying there and manage to think for a split second - that arm going cold thing sounds well scary and I get the weirdest metallic, chemically taste at the back of my tongue, I say 'urgh!' and I'm gone.
Wake up appareantly 1 hour later, my hand gripping onto the side of the bed rail, my throat is
killing me and I have gauze in my mouth and a world of snot up my nose!! After a while the gauze is eased out and I'm brought up to bed.
Where I cry a lot as people text me and call me and I can only whisper replies. My throat! My nose!! My sinuses!!! (the tooth isn't a problem at all

)
Surgeon drops by to say hi and tell me cos it's so late in the day I need to stay overnight. I feebly protest for about 1 second and then say okay. My face only swelled a little in the evening and I managed some jelly (Jello for y'all) and yoghurt and water.
Had some visitors and watched tons of telly and got to go home at 10 the next day. Proper swollen then, only on the one side I got the lower and upper teeth out, giant shiny pink face, like Desperate Dan!

Hid under a scarf and was delighted to be home.
So it's nearly a week now, the swelling's nearly gone, I have the lightest yellow bruise, I can feel all my stitches which is sikening. I have them til next Monday!! Unfortunately I'm still quite numb to the fron on my lip and chin on the side I got the botom tooth is so that could be permanent. It can happen if the nerve under the tooth takes a knock. But it could still go and it's not that bad, I can still move the area, just parts of my skin are kinda dead feeling.
And I will start to work on some art, in the middle of a huge wedding portrait for a nieghbour which is takin a lifetime!! Themethursdays, my apologies
